About Dr. Rodgers

Dr. Martha Rodgers grew up in northern Virginia and western Pennsylvania and always dreamed of being a veterinarian. She received her bachelors degree in Biology from Harvard University in 1988 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. Dr. Rodgers then completed an equine internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in 1993 and pursued a large animal surgery residency at the New Bolton Center from 1993 until 1995. She then returned to Rood and Riddle as an ambulatory associate until 2000. Dr. Rodgers completed her acupuncture training in 1999 through the IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society). In 2000 Dr. Rodgers started her own mobile practice, Shephard Hill Equine, focusing on lameness and acupuncture. She lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband and daughter.
